NEW BUSINESS
Resolution #25-022 – Authorizing the Appointment of David G. Brown, II as the Qualified
Purchasing Agent for the Deal Lake Commission at a cost not to
exceed $2,000.00

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3(c), adjustments were made to the bid and quote thresholds for awarding contracts by various contracting units; and
WHEREAS, effective July 1, 2020, municipalities that have appointed a Qualified Purchasing Agent pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-9(b) can take advantage of a higher bid threshold pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3(a) and have the maximum bid threshold increased from $40,000.00 to $44,000.00 and the quote threshold from $6,000.00 to $6,600.00; and
WHEREAS, David G. Brown, II, is currently the purchasing agent for the Township of Ocean, and does possess the designation of Qualified Purchasing Agent as issued by the Director of the Division of Local Government Services in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:34-5 et seq.; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Deal Lake Commission to appoint David G. Brown, II as its Qualified Purchasing Agent to take advantage of the increase in the bid and quote threshold; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Deal Lake Commission that it hereby appoints David G. Brown, II, as the Qualified Purchasing Agent for the Deal Lake Commission for the period January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 at a cost not to exceed $2,000.00, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-2(30), with specific relevance to the authority, responsibility and accountability of the purchasing activity of the contracting unit; and
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:34-5.2, the local Unit Commission Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution and a copy of David G. Brown, II’s certification to the Director of Local Government Services.
