The DLC was chartered in 1974 by the 7 shore line towns. Our mission is to provide leadership, guidance, and resources to preserve and restore Deal Lake and its tributaries as a healthy and stable ecosystem. In addition, control lake levels during heavy storms to the best of our ability with limited ocean tide controls.

    Deal Lake, its tributaries and watershed are regulated by Federal and State agencies. Check before you dig.

    Strict compliance with the NJDEP regulations apply to any land 50 feet adjacent to the Deal Lake shoreline as well as any land 50 feet adjacent to any stream that drains into Deal Lake.

    Property owners should contact the NJDEP before beginning any maintenance or any construction along the lake's shoreline.

    There can be consequences, including fines and time delays for proceeding with work, prior to securing the appropriate NJDEP permit(s).

    Resolution #25-026 – Authorizing Amendment #2 to the Agreement for the Establishment

                                         of a Joint Meeting known as the Deal Lake Commission

    WHEREAS, there is a need to amend the Section of the current Agreement for the Establishment of a Joint Meeting known as the Deal Lake Commission entitled:  ARTICLE X – FINANCES AND BUDGET as follows:

     

    Said formula shall apply to all budget activities of the Commission. Major capital expenditures not included in budget activities must be approved by the two-thirds (2/3) majority consent of the members of the Commission. In the event any formula for sharing capital expenditures agreed upon by the members cannot be used, in order to secure Federal or State Grants, the proportioned share of each municipality may be determined by mutual agreement after joint negotiation of all member municipalities, the Commission, and other granting or participating governmental divisions or agencies.

     

    Said formula shall apply to all budget activities of the Commission.  Major Capital expenditures not included in the budget activities must be approved with the consent in writing by the governing bodies of all member municipalities.     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Deal Lake Commissioners of the Deal Lake Commission that the Agreement for the Establishment of a Joint Meeting known as the Deal Lake Commission be revised to amend ARTICLE X – FINANCES AND BUDGET; and

     

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of said Amendment #2 shall be forwarded to each member municipality for formal adoption and execution.
